Referral Offer Terms and Conditions
1. What is the Offer?
If an existing Checkatrade tradesperson (“Existing Tradesperson”) recommends another tradesperson to join Checkatrade (“Recommended Tradesperson”) between 1 April 2026 and 30 April 2026 (inclusive), both may receive a reward if the Eligibility Criteria below are met.
The reward depends on the plan the Recommended Tradesperson is on when the Offer eligibility criteria are satisfied:
- Fixed Plan → a £200 Amazon.co.uk Gift Card* sent to the Existing Tradesperson and the Recommended Tradesperson.; or
- PAYG Campaign → a £75 Amazon.co.uk Gift Card* sent to the Existing Tradesperson and the Recommended Tradesperson; or
- Approved Services only → a £30 Amazon.co.uk Gift Card* (*restrictions apply, see www.amazon.co.uk/gc-legal) sent to the Existing Tradesperson and the Recommended Tradesperson.
Each of the above is an “Offer”.
There is no limit to the number of referrals an Existing Tradesperson can make, but there can only be one Existing Tradesperson linked to each Recommended Tradesperson.
2. What does the Recommended Tradesperson need to do?
To qualify, the Recommended Tradesperson must:
By 30 April 2026:
- Apply using the Existing Tradesperson’s referral link and register for the referral programme; or
- Quote the Existing Tradesperson’s referral code when applying over the phone.
And by 14 May 2026:
- Pass Checkatrade’s vetting process;
- Pay at least one month’s Fees.
The Offer applicable will be based on the Recommended Tradesperson’s plan at the time these criteria are fully met.
- When and how is payment made?
- You must have an active Checkatrade membership and your account be in good standing at the time payment is made.
- If the reward is an Amazon.co.uk Gift Card* (*restrictions apply, see www.amazon.co.uk/gc-legal), it will be sent within 30 days of the Eligibility Criteria being met.
If a Recommended Tradesperson fails vetting, cancels, does not pay their Fees, or their Account is suspended before the Eligibility Criteria are met, no Offer will be payable. We reserve the right to withhold any Offer if we have reasonable grounds to suspect wrongdoing by either the Existing Tradesperson, Recommended Tradesperson or both.
4. Important conditions
- The Offers are personal and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
- There is no cash alternative to the Amazon.co.uk Gift Card* (*restrictions apply, see www.amazon.co.uk/gc-legal).
- If either tradesperson breaches the Checkatrade Master Service Terms or applicable Product Terms before the reward is paid, Checkatrade may withdraw the Offer.
- If either tradesperson seriously breaches those terms after receiving a reward, Checkatrade may require repayment.
Tradespeople are responsible for any tax liability arising from receiving an Offer.
5. Changes to the Offer
Checkatrade may amend or withdraw this Offer at any time.
Any change or withdrawal will not affect referrals where the Eligibility Criteria have already been met.
If, for reasons outside our reasonable control, we cannot provide a stated Offer, we may substitute it with an alternative of equal or greater value.
6. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Checkatrade’s total liability in connection with these Offer Terms will not exceed the maximum value of the relevant Offer; and
- Checkatrade will not be liable for any loss of profits, business, revenue, or indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Legal
These Offer Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
