We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee where, in our reasonable opinion, their behaviour:

  • poses a safety risk;
  • is disruptive or inappropriate; or
  • involves illegal activity or the misuse of drugs or alcohol.

No refunds will be given in such circumstances.

Where the attendee is a Checkatrade member, we may also take such behaviour into account under our platform terms and policies, which may impact their membership.

  • Travel and Accommodation

Attendees are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own travel and accommodation.

We are not responsible for any travel disruption, cancellations, or other personal arrangements relating to attendance at an Awards event.

  • Filming and Photography

We may photograph or film events.

By attending, you agree that we may use your image, likeness, and contributions for marketing and promotional purposes.

If you do not wish to be filmed or photographed, you must notify us in advance. We will take reasonable steps to accommodate requests where possible.

  • Prizes

Winners will receive recognition at the relevant Awards event.

Details of any additional prizes, benefits, or promotional opportunities will be confirmed separately.

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or any alternative.

  • Changes and Cancellation

We may change event details, including the date, time, location, or format of an Awards event, or postpone or cancel an event where necessary, without liability.

We will use reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of any such changes.

We will not be responsible for any failure or delay in holding an Awards event where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to venue unavailability, transport disruption, severe weather, industrial action, or public health restrictions.

  • Revocation

We may withdraw an award at any time if, in our reasonable opinion, the winner:

  • no longer meets the eligibility criteria;
  • breaches these Terms or any Checkatrade terms or policies;
  • is subject to investigation or enforcement action under our platform policies; or
  • acts in a way which may damage the reputation or integrity of the Awards or Checkatrade.

Where an award is withdrawn, the winner must:

  • return any physical award if requested;
  • immediately stop using any award branding, badges, or references to the award in marketing or on their profile; and
  • remove any public statements referring to the award where reasonably requested.

We reserve the right to take further action where appropriate in accordance with our platform terms and policies, including in relation to the member’s account.

  •  Liability

We are not liable for any indirect or business losses.

Our total liability to you in connection with the Awards or any event will not exceed:

  • £50; or
  • the total amount of any fees you have paid to attend the relevant event,

whichever is higher.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

  • General

We may update these Terms where necessary. The latest version will be available on the Awards webpage. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
