Eligibility
A tradesperson may be nominated if they hold an approved Checkatrade membership.
All nominations are subject to internal checks. We may remove or disqualify any nominee at any stage where, in our reasonable opinion, they do not meet the standards expected on the Checkatrade platform.
This may include (but is not limited to) situations where a nominee:
- is subject to a formal investigation or review under our platform policies (including our Deactivation and Sanctions Policy); or
- has a pattern of negative reviews, complaints, or other issues identified through our platform or internal processes which calls into question their suitability for the Awards.
Nominations
Customers may nominate tradespeople for all award categories.
Tradespeople may self-nominate only for the following categories:
- Rising Star
- Community Hero
- Sustainability Champion
- Trademore Technology & AI Champion
- Woman in Trade Champion
- Trade Champion
Nominations must be submitted via the official nomination form.
Each nomination must include:
- the nominee’s name and business details;
- the relevant region;
- contact information; and
- a reason for the nomination.
Each individual may submit multiple nominations; however, duplicate nominations for the same tradesperson may be disregarded.
Incomplete nominations may be rejected.
All nominations must be received by midday on 18 June 2026 – we may extend the Nomination Deadline where necessary.
Fair Use and Integrity
Nominations must be genuine and submitted in good faith.
Nominations must not be incentivised, artificially generated, or manipulated in any way. This includes (but is not limited to):
- offering incentives in exchange for nominations;
- submitting or arranging automated or bulk nominations;
- coordinating campaigns to influence outcomes; or
- submitting misleading or duplicate nominations.
We may remove or disregard nominations, and may disqualify any nominee, where we reasonably suspect misuse or manipulation of the nomination process, including where such activity has been encouraged or facilitated by a tradesperson.
Shortlisting and Judging
Valid nominations will be reviewed against eligibility and judging criteria.
Judging is carried out by a panel appointed by Checkatrade, which may include internal representatives and, where appropriate, external participants. We may change the composition of the judging panel at any time.
Judging may take into account:
- the information provided in the nomination;
- Checkatrade platform data (such as reviews and performance);
- how well the nominee meets the category criteria.
Where a nominee operates across multiple regions or does not clearly fall within a single region, we may allocate them to the most appropriate region or category at our discretion.
Shortlisted nominees will be notified by 19 July 2026.
All decisions are final.
Nominee Participation
We may contact nominees to:
- inform them of their nomination;
- request further information.
By submitting a nomination, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are happy for us to contact the nominee about the Awards.
We will contact nominees to inform them of their nomination and provide them with information about how their data is used.
Nominees may decline participation at any time.
If a nominee does not engage or cannot be contacted, we may remove them from the process.
Being nominated does not mean the nominee has agreed to participate.
Data Protection
Personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice, available at: https://www.checkatrade.com/privacy
Content and Intellectual Property
You confirm that any content submitted:
- is accurate; and
- does not infringe third-party rights.

This licence applies only to submitted content and does not include rights to a nominee’s image or likeness.
Disqualification
We may disqualify any nomination or nominee where:
- these Terms are breached;
- the process is manipulated; or
- conduct undermines the integrity of the Awards.
